Dear Mr. Budden,

My name is Duff Isberg and I attend the Sterling Hall School. I am in grade 8 and started attending SHS in 2006. My leadership role at SHS is Heritage Captain, which deals mostly with the heritage of our school and the heritage of Canada, but I am also still working on the position with my faculty advisor. I was on many sports teams last year and the first term of this year, including rugby and soccer. I am a very competitive athlete, and compete in very high levels in some sports including tennis and skiing. I love competing in all different sports. I came to Sterling Hall just two years ago, but I have made many friends and feel like I fit into the SHS environment very well. I am doing well in many subjects, but my favorites would have to be Music, Art and English. In music, I am playing in three different bands, the Grade 8 band, the Music Elective, and The Intermediate Band. The Intermediate Band is by invitation, and is the highest level band at SHS. We play a lot of cool but high level music, including Hockey Night in Canada, Funkytown, Eye of The Tiger and many more. In the Music Elective this year, we created and composed and song and a music video to go along with it, which played on the screen at the Winter Concert.

Crescent School is my first choice for schools this year. I love that Crescent is a big school in terms of students at the school, but it still keeps the warm, accepting, and nurturing environment, much like Sterling Hall. I feel that I would fit in at Crescent very well just like I feel like I have done at SHS. I have many friends at Crescent including a lot of my best friends that I know really well. I know these friends from different events in my life. Some friends are Justin Potts, James Coholan from skiing, Jay Mcconnell from tennis, Drew Barootes and a lot more. I also love the facilities at Crescent School. I love how Crescent has almost every sports team imaginable, and the amazing and new facilities to play it on. One sports team that I would really love is the Ski Team. I haven’t been to a school yet that has a ski team, but for years I have wished that my school had one. I am very interested in the music program at Crescent. I have heard about all kinds of things about the amazing trips around the world for the band.

I would like to thank you for the interview that we had a couple months ago. I hope you consider me for an opportunity to attend Crescent School.

Sincerely,

Signature.

Duff Isberg
